Google today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement with Motorola Mobile, will be $ 40 per share in cash for the latter, a total of about $ 12.5 billion, and Motorola Mobility premium over Friday’s closing price of 63%. The transaction has been approved by both companies’ boards.
Motorola is the partner focused on the Android platform, the acquisition of the company, will significantly strengthen Google Android ecosystem, enhance competition in the field of mobile computing. Motorola Mobility Android system still will be permitted, and the Android system will remain open. Google will make Motorola as a separate business operation.
It is worth mentioning that, the official admit the acquisition is in order to patent.
