Solution to Sync videos or Music to BlackBerry Z10

Yesterday I finally got the 7.6’ Blackberry Z10 on hand, and the first thing I did was connecting it to PC to transfer videos to Z10. It took quite a while to boot up BB Z10, I must say. But I do appreciate that RIM make it so easy for users to transfer files to Z10, you simply connect BB Z10 with PC via USB connection and follow the popup message to install the BlackBerry Link.

BlackBerry Link supports BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry 10 OS and BlackBerry Z10 tablets running BlackBerry Z10 OS 2.1.

You can use BlackBerry Link on a computer to:

1. Sync music, pictures, videos, and documents between your BlackBerry Z10 and your computer over USB or Wi-Fi connections.

2. Back up and restore your device data.

3. Transfer supported settings and data to your new device.

1080p HD video playback on BlackBerry PlayBook

Now, i have hold the playbook for two weeks. It looks and feels nicely. I took many tests on it, just like play bluray or DVD movies, get screenshots, watch video on my tv via HDMI etc. but i ignored that the playbook supports 1080p video playback. How about the video quality? Maybe i should to import some 1080p video into the playbook to figure out.

So i downloaded a 1080p trailer of the Tangled ( mkv format ). And started Pavtube video converter. I selected the HD Video and choose format as h.264 HD video mp4. Then in “settings”, i adjust the size as 1920*1080.

and started the conversion. Although i did the high resolution and the high quatily setting, the conversion speed is really fast. At the same time, the resulting file is just the quality i wanted. it looked pretty clear as the original. Then i transfered the converted file to playbook via USB cable and played it, playback is smooth and the audio effect is wonderful.

This is my own solution to watch 1080p video on playbook. Do you also have something useful? Please share it with us.

Media Tips:

  • A quick way to crop an image is to zoom in on the image how you want it cropped and take a screen shot of the zoomed in image.
  • Push and hold the volume up or down key to skip forward or back through your media

Browser Tips:

  • Open a link in a new tab. Press and hold a link and a menu appears.
  • If your in the browser and your trying to enter a address that doesnt end in “.com”, you can press the “.com” button and hold it – this will bring up a menu with the following extensions that you can select: “.net”, “.org”, “.edu”, “.gov”, “.ca”, and “.biz”.
  • Double tapping videos such as youtube and embedded vids on crackberry makes them go full screen.
  • To Access Files on your PlayBook, type “file:///accounts/1000/shared” into your browser
  • To add a bookmark to your PlayBook Homescreen, press and release the “add bookmark” icon (white star with the + sign). Choose Add to Home Screen, enter a name for the shortcut and you’re done.

BlackBerry PlayBook is just a wonderful one for playing movies. This not only because it supports 1080p video playback, but it also supports a wide range of formats. From the Format list of PlayBook, we can confirm it supports avi, mp4, f4v, wmv etc. However, Some of my friends once met this problem. That’s when they watch avi movies on PlayBook, there is no sound.

Do you have this problem? If you see the list carefully, you will find the answer. The PlayBook supports avi video playback without any question. But only supports audio format as mp3 for avi files. While our avi movies has a lot of audio formats. Before you put AVI video on PlayBook, Please figure out the audio format of the file. If your avi file isn’t using mp3. How to stream Blu-ray or DVD disc movies to PlayBook

TV set with a disc player. But this just one solution to play movies and it is inconvenient if we don’t stay at home. Maybe we also can take another way to enjoy movies. PlayBook just give us possibility.

As a PlayBook user, most of the time, i watch movies on PlayBook. It’s so portable that we can take it anywhere. Since it supports 1080p playback. We don’t need to worry about the video quality. The following i will share you my solution to convert Blu-ray or DVD movies to PlayBook.

Step 1. First we need a disc tool. Here i recommend you Pavtube Blu-ray Ripper, it can rip Blu-ray or DVD discs, if you only have DVD discs, just take Pavtube DVD Ripper. Free download, install and run it.

Step 2. Add your Blu-ray or DVD files to the PlayBook Blu-ray/DVD Converter.
